MIDDLETON, Wisc. – The Capitols are proud to announce their 25-man roster that the team will start the 2023-24 season with. The team consists of fifteen forwards, eight defensemen, and three goaltenders that will start the trek of attempting to bring the Capitols the first championship in organization history.
This year’s team brings the most USHL games played among any team in the league with 1,077 combined between the 17 players who have played games. That also comes with the most points in the careers of the players on the team with 405. Madison is the only team with more than 400 career points returning.
Nine of the Capitols players will be playing in their third year in the league. That number includes the three USNTDP alumni that Madison brings onto the roster as well. Among third year players on the list, newcomer Jake Rozzi leads the way in both career games played, 122, and points, 66.
Last season, Madison’s play on the defensive end of the ice struggled. The Capitols allowed a league high of 290, so in the offseason, Madison’s hockey operations staff went to work. Only two players on the Capitols roster last season, not including affiliates, made the 25-man roster, Ethan Elias and Will Felicio. Backstopping the new look defensive core are a pair of new goaltenders Patriks Berzins and Carsen Musser, both having league experience.
The full roster can be found below as the team travels to Pittsburgh to kick off the 2023-24 campaign on Friday at 7:30 pm CT before returning home on September 29th to open the home portion of the schedule.
