The Detroit Lions saw two players leave the field with apparent injuries during their organized team activities session this Thursday, their third of the offseason.

According to senior reporter Tim Twentyman, running back David Montgomery and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez both took to the locker room during the day’s affairs as they ended up getting hurt.

SBNation’s Jeremy Reisman also reported that the players left the practice area on their own, limping off, but neither returned.

Both RB David Montgomery and LB Malcolm Rodriquez left open OTA practice due to injury. Both walked off and back to locker room.

He also reports that Craig Reynolds (RB), Jonah Jackson (G), Frank Ragnow (C), Benito Jones (DT), and Isaiah Buggs (DT) were all absent for unknown reasons. However, coach Dan Campbell did point out that there were a few players who had newborns.

“We’ll have a couple guys out, but those are things that I know about,” Campbell was quoted as saying. “They’ve got things, personal things going on. Nothing major. We have a lot of babies right now.”

The Lions Players Who Did Not Practice

Meanwhile, quarterback Hendon Hooker was present but did not practice, with wide receiver Trinity Benson also around but not taking part in training. Levi Onwuzurike (DT), Emmanuel Moseley (CB), and Steven Gilmore (CB) did not practice either, despite being there.

Hooker and Moseley are both recovering from torn ACLs suffered last season but they were involved with their position groups and weren’t idling about.

Gilmore missed media sessions with the media on the opening day of rookie minicamp but whether he’s dealing with an injury is unclear. Benson’s problem, if there is one, is also unknown.
