Minnesota Lynx McBride – 28 Collier – 13 Juhász – 6

Connecticut Sun Thomas – 26 Allen – 9 Thomas – 6

Lynx Notes

Kayla McBride led the Lynx with a playoff career-high performance across the stat sheet. She ended the game with a playoff career-high in both points and rebounds with 28 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in a complete game.

Shooting 10-of-18 from the field and 6-of-11 from behind the line, McBride officially tied Maya Moore for most three-point fields goals made by a Lynx player in a playoff game. Moore did so against Phoenix on Sept. 25, 2011.

Napheesa Collier excelled this afternoon, finishing with a playoff career-high 26 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 37:58 minutes and marked her third playoff career double-double. Collier became the first Lynx player with 25+ points and 13+ rebounds in a playoff game.

Today’s game marked Collier’s first game with 25+ points/10+ rebounds/2+ steals and becomes the second Lynx player and only the 11th player in WNBA history to achieve this. She joins fellow Lynx Maya Moore (Oct. 4, 2015 against Phoenix) in this feat.

Diamond Miller had a strong game, totaling 10 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a block at the conclusion of the game. She becomes the sixth rookie to have multiple steals in a playoff game.

Dorka Juhász finished the game with six points, five rebounds and six assists in 31:58 minutes. She becomes the third Lynx rookie to tally 5+ points/5+ rebounds/5+ assists in a playoff game. She joins previous rookies Nicole Ohlde (2004) and Maya Moore (2011) in this feat.

Team Notes

With McBride and Collier both scoring 25+ points, this marks the first time in Lynx play history for two players to have such points in the same game.

According to Across the Timeline, McBride and Collier become the fifth pair of teammates in WNBA Playoffs to have 25+ points and 8+ rebounds in the same game, the first since 2016.

The Lynx became the first team in WNBA history to have a 30+ point deficit and come back and win a subsequent game in a single series.

The Connecticut Sun franchise had defeated the Lynx by 20+ points in four previous games and in each instance, Minnesota has come back to win the next game and tonight marks the fifth occurrence between the teams.

Sun Notes

Alyssa Thomas led the Sun, ending the game with 26 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two blocks, while playing in the full 40 minutes of the game.

Next Game

The Lynx will return to Minnesota for Game 3, which will take place on Wednesday, September 20. Tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT (8:00 p.m. ET) and will air on ESPN.
