NAL Champion Damien Jacobs Returns to Sharks

JACKSONVILLE, FL -The Sharks have re-signed defensive lineman Damien Jacobs for his fifth season of arena football.

Jacobs (6’3, 300) returns to Jacksonville after helping the Sharks win NAL championships in both 2017 and 2019. While he was a Shark, Jacobs earned Second Team All-NAL honors and was the 2018 NAL Most Improved Player. During his rookie season, Jacobs played for the Georgia Firebirds before finishing the year with the Jacksonville Sharks where he won his first NAL title with the team in 2017.

As a rookie, he amassed 14 tackles, four sacks, two safeties, two fumbles recovered, and one interception. Prior to his arena football career, Jacobs was signed by the Buffalo Bills of the NFL where he competed in training camp with the Bills during the 2014 season. He also signed with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes before launching his arena football career.

Jacobs finished his college career at the University of Florida where he had 34 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and one interception as a Gator. Prior to UF, Jacobs played at the JUCO level with East Mississippi Community College, a college that debuted in the first two seasons of the Netflix series “Last Chance U”. During his time at EMCC, Jacobs recorded 47 tackles, two sacks, and two recovered fumbles and won two national championship titles with the Lions.

Jacobs is from Gibson, LA, and attended high school at H.L. Bourgeois High School where he was the No. 75 ranked defensive lineman and third in the state of Louisiana.
