Second man charged over alleged attack on AFL retiree
A second man has been charged over an alleged attack on AFL player Jack Ziebell.
The North Melbourne star was celebrating his retirement at a South Yarra bar early on Sunday morning when he was allegedly set upon by a group of men.
It is alleged Ziebell was pushed onto Commercial Road about 1am, before he was punched in the face and kicked.
The 32-year-old spent the night in hospital and needed facial reconstruction surgery.

Detectives earlier this week charged a 21-year-old Narre Warren man with affray, intentionally causing injury and assault by kicking.
A second man, a 29-year-old from Narre Warren, has also been charged with affray.
Both were bailed to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court in October.
The North Melbourne Football Club confirmed Ziebell’s facial surgery had been a success and he was on the road to recovery.
