(TUKWILA, WASHINGTON) – Joe Taufete’e, isn’t just an Eagle, he also holds the all-time record for most international tries scored by a hooker, with 22.

Born in American Samoa, Taufete’e moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when he was five. Joe played defensive tackle through high-school and in college at Santa Ana College, where he earned several All-Conference honors. A serious athlete, Taufete’e began playing rugby as well, and went to New Zealand to further develop those skills.
In 2016 his professional career began, when Joe was picked up by the San Diego Breakers. Later that year he found a new home in English Premiership with the Worscester Warriors. In 2020, he moved across the English Channel to play for Lyon in France.
In 2022 with the birth of his child in California, Lyon released Joe from his contract so he could sign with the LA Giltinis. He would spend the MLR off-season playing with the Leicester Tigers and returning to the US to play for the Houston SaberCats. Joe joins the Seawolves in a trade with the Houston SaberCats for fly half AJ Alatimu.
